HEALTH TIPS & FAVORITE FOOD
WISE WEBSITES |
Staying on top of your
everyday commitments despite everything that's going on around you
and then making time to enjoy a few festive fun nights out can be a
real challenge during busy seasons. Get a head start on a fitness
regime when you're feeling inspired by putting good habits into
place. When things get busy and you are uninspired, you'll be
too frazzled to think of ways to be fit. The key to fitness
success is establishing good general habits. For instance:
establish a time to drink your water such as before breakfast,
before lunch and before dinner. Keep a healthy supply of ready
to eat vegetables in the refrigerator so when you reach for a munch
you'll get a carrot (celery, broccoli tip, etc.) instead of chips or
sweets. Then, when you've been terrific about your healthy
habits all week, treat yourself to something to wear that is really
special to your heart, a piece of jewelry, a scarf, or a few dollars
in a private account toward that large purchase - a trip or new car!

Eating on the run can be difficult
to say the least, particularly when you come home starving and
need to just quell the hunger pangs long enough to cook
something healthy. Conquer difficult moments with advanced
planning by stocking up on healthy items to
create 1 minute
mini-meals. For instance: Rye Crisps, sheep or goat
milk cheese and a red onion make a quick pizza at 30 seconds in
the microwave. Rye crisps hold up Ill both on the shelf
and with the moisture of microwave heat. A slice of goat
gouda or sheep cheese has 1/3 the fat, cholesterol and
calories of a cows milk and a fine sliver of red onion gives a
nice flair and gourmet flavor. |
Pull together a few gourmet
vegetarian meals before each event or holiday and save that tug of war on
your blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, heart and
waistline. I've dedicated Paula's Kitchen to
vegetarian gourmet. |
