ACCESS OVERVIEW

Another Course to College Educational Service Solutions (ACCESS) Is a Community Fellows work\study program training young adults to become scholars while developing a passion to grow into change agents. Communications TRAINING

ACCESS is modeled after founder Paula Robinson Deare's experience with MIT Urban Studies & Planning Community Fellows and MIT Sloan Executive Programs. ACCESS Fellows work on building sustainable communities from human capital development to livable cities. Fellows also learn leadership skills and practices via journalism research, jury style information delivery, critical thinking and methods in content development.  Our use of mixed media helps Fellows understand how innovative productions are brought to the global marketplace. From self-esteem and intellectual capital to knowledge work and competitive intelligence - we help young adults present voice, services and products to the world. Fundamental to the ACCESS Community Fellows program is communications training in mixed media. Our writing curricula is designed to enable Fellows to grow verbal and written literacy skills, while portraying what they learn in stories for digital venues for successful application to and retention in college. Further, Fellows learn public speaking and presentation skills which give them a competitive edge in collegiate and career environments - because communication forms the bedrock of all human interaction.
