When you think about communications literacy, in the context of information warfare, the juxtapostion isn’t new. Literacy has always been used to disrupt and polarize critical thinking by disinformation, sensationalism, misinformation, under-education, etc. So, we designed our Communications web discussions to focus on the differences between facts and opinion, which includes fun and important examples on confusion, harassment, chaotic language and other tactics that are used to keep people from making clear and independent decisions. We include the use of communications technological advances not only as a tool, but to help our students become producers of information that gaurantees the prospect for
solutions to grassroots issues and democracy. Our students create positive and effective media productions on the real pride, integrity and strengh of the human spirit and diverse cultures to impact the world with positive community development.
